Two People Overlapping Like "Flatfish"

Although Tae Morikawa was introduced in this special exhibition, the foundation is the firm stance that "Jun Iwasaki and Tae Morikawa are two people as one artist."

The legendary fish "Himokugyo (Flatfish)" transmitted in China is said to be able to swim as one fish only when two fish snuggle up to the left and right. Morikawa likens the existence of Jun*Juane to this legend and thinks of it as "one goldfish with connected tail fins even if there are two heads." The figure of complementing each other's sensibilities and moving forward as one is the driving force of Jun*Juane.

Work "Mimosa": Prayer Born in Difficulties

The work "Mimosa" introduced at the venue was born in an event that tested the bond between the two.

It was during the first solo exhibition at "Kokura Castle", which became the starting point of Jun*Juane. Jun Iwasaki suffered an unexpected situation where he fractured his spine during the event period and was forced to be hospitalized for 3 months.

"I want to cheer up Jun who is in the hospital." "I want to brighten his anxious heart even a little."

Tae Morikawa suppressed her agitation and moved her brush as if praying. The work born in this way is wrapped in yellow mimosa all over.

Colors of Gratitude and Compassion

The flower language of mimosa is "gratitude, friendship, compassion." The work contains the wish that happiness spreading gradually from the depths of the heart and a gentle and refreshing scent will reach you. We aimed to convey that peace of mind to Iwasaki in his sickbed and to those who visited the exhibition.

Through "Expressing Women Exhibition 3", we were able to deliver the story behind the work and the existence of Jun*Juane as one life form to many people. The journey of the two, where Jun Iwasaki's perspective and Tae Morikawa's prayer overlap and snuggle up like a flatfish, will continue.
