Machida Shibahiro: The Fantastic Light of "Goldfish Lanterns" Swimming in the Night Sky

Machida Shibahiro: The Fantastic Light of "Goldfish Lanterns" Swimming in the Night Sky (2025.3.7 - 3.9)
For three days from March 7 to 9, 2025, the exhibition of Goldfish Lanterns, which was Jun*Juane's long-cherished wish, was finally realized at "Machida Shibahiro" in Machida City.
Light Finally Lit After Overcoming Snow
This goldfish lantern was originally supposed to be displayed at an event last summer to color the festival night. However, it was cancelled due to the typhoon. It was postponed without ever being lit.
It was the day of lighting finally welcomed after more than half a year, but there was also a day when unseasonal snow fell, and it was held in the piercing cold. However, the light of the goldfish that floated faintly in the exhilarating white snow created a scene that was different from the summer night, dignified, somewhat warm, and indescribably fantastic.
Fantastic "Night Aquarium" Spreading in the Lawn Square
Snow and light intersect in the spacious Machida Shibahiro space. The swaying light of the lanterns made it seem as if the cold night square had become a huge aquarium. Despite the severe cold, many people immersed themselves in this one-and-only world, such as those who stopped to gaze quietly at the light and those who enjoyed taking pictures while taking measures against the cold.
Connecting the Light of Gratitude to the Future
What I realized through these three days was the reassurance that "there are people waiting" in any situation. Everyone who knew about the postponement in the summer and visited the venue even in the cold and snow. And everyone involved who worked hard for the holding.
Surrounded by many smiles and white breaths, the fact that the lanterns were finally able to fulfill their role became an unforgettable scenery for Jun*Juane.
Thank you very much to everyone who watched this light together for three days.
