BSP Shinjuku Marui Main Building: Pre-exhibition of "Goldfish Lanterns" Anticipating the Lighting in Machida in March

BSP Shinjuku Marui Main Building: Pre-exhibition of "Goldfish Lanterns" Anticipating the Lighting in Machida in March (2024.10.11 - 12.4)
From October 11 to December 4, 2024, we held an exhibition at BSP on the 4th floor of Shinjuku Marui Main Building. This exhibition was a place to express our gratitude for the past, and at the same time, it was an important step leading to the next big stage.
"Goldfish Lanterns" Waiting for Lighting in Machida in March
What we especially wanted to unveil in this exhibition was the "Goldfish Lanterns". This work had been waiting for its turn for a long time after the event was canceled or postponed due to the influence of the typhoon. This time, we did not light them up yet, but lined them up in the venue as a "pre-exhibition" for the actual performance scheduled to be held in Machida in March 2025.
Its quiet appearance seemed as if it was patiently waiting for the time to shine brightly under the sky of Machida in the spring. Crossing over the regret of the typhoon, we are deeply moved to have been able to show it to everyone in this form first.
It was held in a hurry and the preparation period was limited, but it was a period supported by the warmth of many people. Even when we couldn't stand directly at the venue, the BSP staff treated the works with care and carefully conveyed their thoughts to the visitors. Including the support from friends, I realized once again that being able to work as an artist is precisely because of "human connections", and I felt a "life of gratitude".
Lighting in Machida, to the Next Story
December 4th, the final day. While organizing the works, our hearts are already heading towards Machida in March. We look forward to welcoming the moment when the currently quiet Goldfish Lanterns light up with warm light under the sky of Machida together with you all.
Thank you very much for the valuable opportunity in Shinjuku and your warm support.
