SIH International Business Contest 2025 World Championships: Won 1st Place in Art Category & Judges' Special Award. Path to International Certification and Mentorship (2025.11.03)

On November 3, 2025, a great honor was bestowed upon the artist unit Jun*Juane. At the "SIH International Business Contest 2025" World Championships, which solicits world-scale innovations, our proposal "Disseminating Sustainable Japanese Culture through Large-Format Furoshiki Utilizing Surplus Fabrics" won 1st Place in the Art Category and the Judges' Special Award.

Furthermore, in recognition of this award and the results of our activities, we have been registered as a mentor for the SDGs Innovation HUB (SIH) and received the international certification of "Community Engagement Professional International Certification".

Connecting Thoughts from the Field to the World and Public Recognition

The driving force behind this award and international certification is the excellence of the fabrics that Japan's manufacturing sites have continued to protect. We are grateful to the companies that willingly accepted factory tours and entrusted us with the passion of the craftsmen and the stories dwelling in the fabrics. It is precisely because we had the experience of feeling the pure thought of "wanting to cherish the fabric" from everyone firsthand that we were able to speak about Japan's sustainable culture with confidence on the big stage of the world.

I feel that this award and certification are proof that not only Jun*Juane's expression but also Japan's reliable technology and the thoughts of everyone who supports it have been recognized on a global standard.

Sustainable Future Opened by Tradition

In the presentation, we carefully conveyed how the ancient Japanese gesture of "wrapping" and the heart of cherishing things are directly connected to modern sustainable living and "disaster prevention," a preparation to protect life. We conveyed the message that the multifunctional wisdom held by a single piece of cloth, beyond its beauty as art, is the very resilience required by the world of the future. The fact that this message resonated deeply led to this highest evaluation and international certification as a "Community Engagement Professional".

Ideally with Gratitude, to the Next Role

I am now filled with deep relief and gratitude for this wonderful result at the World Championships, reached after passing the primary and secondary screenings and the qualifying rounds. From now on, as a mentor, I will take on the role of giving back my experience so far to society.

Since that day I learned at the factory, the connections with many people I met through sales in various places. All of them led me to this stage. I would like to continue delivering the gentle and strong sustainable spirit dwelling in Japanese culture to the world carefully and with care. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported me.
