Creation of Variety : Created by the late Nobuyuki Kawahara, a fisheries researcher in Saitama Prefecture.It is a relatively new variety that was fixed over about 20 years by crossbreeding Edo Nishiki and Shubunkin(especially individuals close to the Comet type) with a long flowing tail.
Morphological Features : The biggest features are "no dorsal fin (Ranchu type)" and "long tail fin and four-tail (or three-tail)".By combining the body shape of Edo Nishiki and the tail length of Shubunkin, a unique elegant swimming style is born.
